This talk, held at the 6th HLRS Workshop in Stuttgart in october 2003, presents a portable research code for the simulation of 3-D incompressible nonstationary flows - the first parallel version of FEATFLOW - and some current and recent applications of the code. Run times and scaling on (among others) Hitachi SR8000, Cray T3E-1200 and HeLiCS are dealt with and the (numerical) consequences for parallel efficiencies arising from the use of block smoothers in parallel multigrid methods are covered.
