Short description and remarks
'Shell and Tube'-Heat-Exchanger are widely spread in the field of
chemical engineering. Still it is not clear how to arrange the tubes
inside the appartus in order to get a optimal heat-transfer-behaviour.
Beginnig from a simple configuration with only one tube we studied cases for 2x2 upto 5x5 tube arrangemnets for
constant circumference as well as constant area.
This page contains the 2D simulation of fluid flows in a square of 4 units with one circle of radius 1.5, located at the centre of square i.e. at x = 2 & y = 2. The calculation starts from rest. The flow is observed with the Reynolds This simulation is part of a Software-Praktikum at the University of Dortmund in 2004. |
