Short
description and remarks
'Wedge-Shaped'-Hoppers are widely spread in the field of chemical
engineering and mechanical engineering. Hoppers come in
different shapes and sizes. The hopper has two geometric
characteristics namely the half-angle and the outlet dimension. We
studied cases with different half-angle and outlet dimensions of the
hopper. This page contains the 2D simulation of flows in a hopper with hopper half-angle=20 degrees, inlet radius=1.0 and outlet radius=0.15. The calculation starts from rest. The flow is observed with the Reynolds number 1000. This simulation is part of a Software-Praktikum at the University of Dortmund in 2004. |
