Short description and remarks

'Pitched Blade Turbine' is a generic impeller design.it is a 3-bladed turbine with 120 degrees separation between each blade axis. It is widely used in Computational Fluid Dynamics, where the computational fluid mixing is a very powerful tool when experimentation is either not possible, dangereous or too expensive.
This page contains the 2D simulation of fluid flows in a circular domain of diameter 14.5.It is having four heated circles of radius 0.4 and located at 45,135,225 and 315 degrees. The calculation starts from rest. The flow is observed with the Reynolds. This simulation is part of a Software-Praktikum at the University of Dortmund in 2004.
