SOFAR is a finite element library developed at the Chair for Scientific Computing at the Technische Universität Dortmund and the Institute for Mathematics at the Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin.

The software is used for research on error estimators and adaptive strategies o.a. and for interdisciplinary projects such as [ProWeSP].

A first workshop concerning the finite element library SOFAR took place at the TU Dortmund University in february 2009. The agenda can be found here. A second one will be hold at the Humboldt University Berlin in summer 2010. Further details will shortly be published here.
