Flow over a Forward Facing Step at different Reynolds numbers

Flow over a "forward facing step" at different Reynolds numbers, starting from rest. The flow tends to some steady behaviour (low Re case), while it seems to be fully nonsteady for the medium Reynolds number case. The corresponding coarse mesh for all calculations is plotted in the following diagram. This simulation is one of the oldest in the 'Virtual Album' which might explain some funny colour representations!
