Short description and remarks
Flow around a truck at low Reynolds number, starting from
rest. This simulation is part of a comparative study
(by students during the FEATFLOW Praktikum 1995/96 at
Heidelberg) with the aim to figure out the influence of the wind
shield
on the top of the truck, for different configurations (see
also the results for the higher Reynolds number situations).
In all following diagrams, the first column
is for a truck with wind shield and cargo, followed by a
calculation for a shape without wind shield, but still with cargo, and finally
for a truck without wind shield and without cargo! A typical
coarse mesh is shown in the following Figure.
