Short description and remarks

The following simulation addresses flow around one moving circle in the closed channel. The circle has prescribed motion. Initially, the liquid in the channel is at rest. The movement of the circle is prescribed by the "Fictitious Boundary Conditions" only: All calculations are performed on ONE SINGLE mesh!!! This explains why the contour of the circle is sometimes poorly represented, particularly if streamfunction or pressure plots are used!

Visualization

  • Velocity

Visualization via normalized isolines and shaded ( 4 MB) and "real sized" vectors (4 MB).

  • Pressure

Visualization via isolines and shaded ( 4 MB).

  • Streamfunction

Visualization via isolines and shaded ( 4 MB).
