Short description and remarks

Channel flow with two narrowing sections at high Reynolds number, starting fully developed. Both bumps are at different locations: the height of the lower hill is 0.35, while the upper one has heigth 0.25. The flow shows a complex behaviour which - in addition to the medium Reynolds number case - exhibits oscillations after the first bump.

Visualization

  • Distribution of temperature/concentration via Boussinesq model

Visualization via distribution of the concentration in the flow field, starting from the inlet, but with different color maps (first, shaded, 1.5 MB, second, shaded, 1.9 MB).

  • Pressure

Visualization via pressure plots, shaded (first, 1.2 MB) and via isolines (second, 5.7 MB).

  • Streamfunction

Visualization via streamline plots, shaded (first, 1.4 MB) and via isolines (second, 6.2 MB).

  • Velocity

Visualization via vector plots (11.4 MB) in a zoomed region.
