Short description and remarks

Flow (isothermal) in a gas burner at low Reynolds number, starting from rest. The flow gets steady. See also the results for the other flow situations. A complete description of this flow type which has been part of a BMBF project can be found at (see the paper archive):

Visualization

  • Distribution of temperature/concentration via Boussinesq model

Visualization via temperature distribution, starting from the inlet (first, 2.1 MB), and from the (interior) heated walls (second and third, with different color maps, 2.2 MB and 3.0 MB).

  • Pressure

Visualization via pressure plots, shaded (first, 1.5 MB) and via isolines (second, 4.5 MB).

  • Streamfunction

Visualization via streamline plots, shaded (first, 1.5 MB) and via isolines (second, 5.1 MB).

  • Velocity

Visualization via vector plots (vectors, 3.2 MB).
