Non-Newtonian channel flow (power law) |
The following examples concern channel flows for non-Newtonian fluids
in which case the viscosity is controlled by power law type models.
One main difference with respect to the Newtonian cases
are the different velocity profiles which significantly differ
from the typical parabolic profiles. Additionally, due to the coupling
with the velocity in the diffusive terms, the local Reynolds
may vary much stronger! A typical profile for a pure channel
calculation is demonstrated in the following figure which has to be
compared with the shown parabolic profile!
The complexity of the problem depends on the:
A systematic variation of these different configurations is part of the following flow situations. |
