DIDACTICAL LABORATORY

In the mathe-didactical laboratory of the IEEM, prospective and practicing teachers can get suggestions for mathematics teaching in all grades, get support for inquiry-based learning and empirical explorations of students’ learning processes, reflect and exchange didactical ideas at a communicative place, work cooperatively on ongoing activities.

The didactic laboratory offers

• exhibition areas for didactical teacher journals and books for use on-site as well as teaching materials and manipulatives to be borrowed
• activity areas with varied possibilities to develop and optimize teaching materials (e.g. laminators)
• communication areas with agreeable furniture (desks and seating areas)

In the didactic laboratory students can

• get varied suggestions for mathematics teaching in all grades
• reflect and exchange didactic ideas at a communicative place
• get support for empiric explorations of school learning processes
• be inspired by shop work as part of the activities to do inquiry-based learning, especially in the theory-practice modules
• work cooperatively on ongoing subject-specific and subject-didactic activities
